
Division Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Launching
The Schools Division office of Albay through the Human Resource Development Section with the Office CPD Core Team aim to provide technical assistance on CPD Application processes and to establish a structured and systematic approach to professional development, ensuring that all personnel have access to high-quality learning experiences.

Person Organization Fit: Collaborative Learning Sessions in Addressing Mission-Critical Competencies
A meaningful, needs-based, and purposeful education relies on a nuanced, thorough and collective understanding of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.
Forging connections between different sources of knowledge entails curriculum integration; however, whatever form a curriculum takes, pedagogy and assessments are crucial components. Pedagogy involves the art, science, theories and values of teaching and how these interact with children’s learning and development. It should be informed by research evidence but is also influenced by individual and collective values and goals. Assessment refers to the process of gathering and using information to pinpoint and advance children’s learning. With this, identifying the implications for teacher and learner is essential in the teaching-learning process.
Relative to the issuance of DepEd Memorandum No. 50, s. 2020 which stipulates the 3-year Professional Development Priorities drawn from the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) and the Philippine Professional Standards for School Heads (PPSS) which reflects the needs assessment conducted by the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP) through focus group discussion of which the list of PD Priorities was identified. Likewise, the Professional Development Needs reflected in the Learning Needs Assessment conducted by the Human Resource Development Section of this Office also served as bases in the crafting of PD design.
With the identified PD Priorities, DepEd SDO Albay through the initiative of the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) in collaboration with the Schools Governance and Operations Division (SGOD), the Albay Learning Action Cell (LAC) Shareable Contents Across Learning Areas and Programs was conceptualized to provide resource materials addressing the identified PD Needs of Teachers and School Leaders along specific domains and strands.
This content materials across learning areas and programs will ensure that teachers and school leaders will be capacitated with the content pedagogic knowledge to address the learning gaps as they fulfill their mission to our albayano learners.
Quality learning is greatly influenced by quality teaching; thus, organizing professional learning communities through a cost-effective means of learning and development in the conduct of LAC Sessions is emphasized in DepEd Order No. 35, s. 2016. This PD design shall be implemented through the conduct of School-Based Learning Action Cells dubbed as Person Organization Fit: Collaborative Learning Sessions in Addressing Mission-Critical Competencies of which the primary learning modality is Facilitated Team Learning. This collection of LAC Shareable materials is a testimony of SDO Albay’s strong commitment to continuously upskill teachers and instructional leaders to become more competent and more responsive to the needs of our learners to do more and achieve more. The schools, districts and learning centers shall harvest from the LAC Shareable materials in the conduct of their professional development activities based on the identified needs of the teachers or school leaders.
